How Does Your Entrepreneurial Type Compare?

Did you know that there are 4 different types of entrepreneurs and that each type has its own strengths and weaknesses? If you’re looking to begin your next professional adventure, it might be worth looking into how you compare.

Here are the four different types of entrepreneurs, as defined by their perspectives and goals for their business idea.

Builder

Those who fall under the Builder category will want to create a business that is scalable within a short period of time. Typically, such individuals will have temperamental personalities which allow them to suit a fast-paced environment but create problems in personal and business relationships. Such individuals will succeed by building a strong infrastructure and hiring the right people and investors for the job.

Opportunist

Individuals that are categorised as the Opportunist are optimistic and great at spotting opportunities that will yield a good return. They are concerned with profits and building wealth, thus, creating residual income is more appealing to them.

Innovator

The Innovator is perhaps the typified vision that people have of the entrepreneur. They tend to come up with great products or ideas that may not have been heard of before and can do so consistently. The focus for the innovator is less so on the financial aspect, but more on how the idea that they have had will benefit society. Their weakness however often lies with a lack of business acumen, but this can be overcome by the support they receive from the right investors.

Specialist

The Specialist is an individual who has acquired their skills throughout their education or their experience, or through a combination of both. They are often able to build a network through this exposure, and slowly transition from an employee to a business owner in their relevant, specialised field.
